Remote Island Vacation
Sleep
The castaway will need to build their own shelter using what can be found on the island. However, there is also the option to enjoy a more comfortable experience with a tent, hammocks, camping gas, kitchen equipment, and more.
Eat
On this remote island, the castaway will eat and drink whatever nature provides. The island offers a variety of coconuts, crabs, hermit crabs, and small fish from the reef. If needed, Docastaway can supply a spear gun for underwater fishing and fishing tackle. For drinking, the castaway can rely on coconuts and rainwater, which is usually abundant. However, the castaway can always bring provisions and enjoy a completely solitary vacation on their secluded island.
Isolation feeling
Juanito Island is approximately 20 km from the nearest coastline. There is a small chance of seeing boat lights in the distance at night
The feeling of isolation during this remote island vacation is generally HIGH
Contact with outside world
For Juanito, you can choose between two options:
1 – WITH A GUARD
A Docastaway guard will be stationed at the island’s only entrance to ensure that the castaway’s level of isolation is not compromised by fishermen. The castaway will remain completely isolated on the backside of the island, facing the open sea. The walk from this location to the entrance takes about 15 minutes. The guard’s presence provides the added benefit of immediate assistance in case of an emergency. In this option, the castaway will not encounter any other human beings unless they visit the entrance.
The biggest advantage of the guard option is that if the castaway becomes too tired, hungry, scared, or bored of surviving or being alone, they can always start a new experience by going to the entrance and enjoying a different kind of holiday with our team. In this case, the castaway will enjoy special meals prepared by our team, learn how to fish, spearfish, and acquire other survival skills, all while continuing to enjoy a unique vacation on the most beautiful remote island, without ever having to return to the mainland.
This is a win-win experience, as few of our castaways in this option have ever had to return to the mainland before their planned departure.
2 – WITHOUT A GUARD
If there is no guard at the island’s only entrance, the castaway will be completely alone on the entire desert island, while our team remains on standby 24/7 at the nearest village.
There is a small chance that a local fisherman may land on the beach to take shelter from a storm or simply to eat. It’s important to note that this remote location will be fully rented as a private island by our castaway, and they are the only ones authorized to stay. Therefore, if a fisherman does land, the castaway has the right to kindly ask them to leave. However, this responsibility will fall to the castaway and could temporarily reduce their level of isolation, as it involves interacting with people.
In the NO-GUARD option, the castaway will have a walkie talkie or a cell phone. In case of an emergency, we can reach the island within 4 hours. If the client needs water, food, or new tools, our team can provide them, though these additional visits would incur extra charges.
Possible dangers
On this remote island, there are no truly dangerous animals. There are some small, harmless python snakes, and previous clients have spotted centipedes and scorpions, which could pose a risk only if you’re allergic to their venom. In the sea, you may encounter some harmless blacktip sharks, which are generally scared of humans. The only potential risk at sea is stepping on a stingray barefoot, especially if you’re allergic to its venom. For this reason, we recommend wearing shoes when walking—better shuffling—through the water. However, in the past 15 years of castaway activities, we have never heard of anyone encountering issues with stingrays, scorpions, or centipedes. Our main concern on this desert island would be swimming, as the currents can sometimes be strong if you venture too far out of the reef.
What we love

Quick access from Europe/America
How to reach
This secluded island is located in a remote part of Indonesia. The client will first fly to Jakarta (flight booked by them, with our assistance). From there, a domestic flight to a remote area will be arranged by us. Upon arrival at the local airport, our team will welcome the client and transport them by private car to the harbor, where a speedboat will be ready to take them to the island. The client will likely spend the first night in Jakarta, reaching the desert island by the late afternoon the next day to begin their perfect getaway.
On the last day, the client will return to the mainland in the morning. Instead of heading directly to the airport, we recommend spending the night in a local hotel. This allows them to recover from the experience—enjoy a good meal, take a shower, make any necessary calls, and rest—while also providing a buffer day in case of unexpected storms. This way, we can ensure they won’t miss their flight home if any delays occur while leaving the island.
